Nicole Reglos

As an Asian American Licensed Professional Counselor, I’m dedicated to helping others explore their thoughts, heal from the past, and build meaningful futures through a culturally conscious lens. Alongside bridging cultural identity with mental health, I bring an extensive background involving various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. This is along with heavy experience treating those with mood disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and those undergoing the discourses of trauma, grief, and maladjustment. Overall, I’m passionate about guiding others through some of life’s most testing situations. In addition, doing so while helping them recognize their innate worth, find healthy coping mechanisms, and feel confident as they begin shifting from the state of surviving to genuinely living.

As a therapist, I’m passionate about helping teens, young adults, and adults explore the difficult emotions that come with being human. Originally from the Philippines and raised in Houston, I deeply understand the challenges that come with balancing cultural identities and treading the taboo topic of mental health. This is why my practice is based on a cultural value, compassion, validation, and providing a safe space for healing and growth. With me, you can expect an eclectic approach to therapy. I intertwine strategies and interventions from CBT and PCT, both in tandem with building a collaborative therapist-client relationship that empowers you to become agents of change within your mental health journey. Even more, all within a culturally responsive therapeutic environment where you have the freedom to just BE without fear, as that’s where genuine growth and transformation lies.

Coming full circle, nothing makes me happier than helping others find their passions, step into the best version of themselves, and create the life they want for themselves in a comfortable space where being heard is valued and being vulnerable feels safe. Remember, just because a foundation has a crack does not mean it is unrepairable. So, let’s connect and begin exploring deeper. Let’s find root causes, surface emotional barriers causing misdirection, and together come up with the best course of action. In the end, therapy is not always easy, but you're not in this alone.

I look forward to meeting you. Better yet, getting to know you.

What is an LPC Associate?

LPC Associates are highly trained post-graduate counselors. They have already completed two years of a rigorous masters degree program, in which they had to complete 700 hours of counseling experience (on average) before graduation. During this time, they received training on various counseling techniques, assessments, and diagnostic skills. After graduation, they then go on to complete their national licensing exam, which allows them to receive their LPC Associate license from the state. This is when the period of clinical supervision begins. During the clinical supervision period, LPC Associates complete an additional 3,000 hours of counseling work over a minimum of 18 months (much like a doctor going through residency) before receiving their unsupervised LPC license. Throughout these 3,000 hours, they are supervised either on or off site by a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who has had a minimum of five-years post license experience and has also taken another rigorous 40-hour course in order to be certified to supervise. The LPC Associate you see may discuss your case confidentially with their supervisor. When you are receiving treatment from an LPC Associate you receive the benefit of not just your clinician’s knowledge, experience, and expertise, but also the knowledge, experience, and expertise of the Associate’s supervisor as well, all at a reduced cost to you!
